Long Island Woman Enters Bedroom, Threatens Victim With Knife: Police

A Long Island woman was arrested after allegedly assaulting a person and injuring an officer during a disturbance.

Nassau County police said Jennifer Carrera Aguilar, age 28, of Westbury, entered a bedroom at a Whittier Street residence in New Cassel around 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, and threatened a 35-year-old woman with a knife. When the victim tried to call 911, police said Aguilar slapped the phone from her hand to prevent the call.

As officers attempted to take Aguilar into custody, she allegedly resisted and refused to comply with verbal commands, leading to an officer sustaining an injury. The injured officer was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Aguilar faces charges of:

  • Assault in the second degree,
  • Menacing in the second degree,
  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree,
  • Criminal mischief in the fourth degree,
  • Obstructing governmental administration in the second degree,
  • Resisting arrest.
